Same Day Collection – Bank Transfer Payments

To guarantee collection you have to pay for your currency via Bank Transfer. Payment has to reach our account and funds cleared in our account by 10.00am for Collection after 1.00pm and funds cleared by 1.00pm for collection after 4.00pm on the same day.

Any payments received after the deadline will be available for collection follow day after 1.00pm.

Same Day Collection – Bank Details

Pay for your Currency by Bank Transfer, Faster Payment, internet or telephone banking, BACS, CHAPS or directly over the bank counter. Faster Payments is a FREE service offered by most banks now and usually allows us to see your payment quicker than other methods.

Next Day Collection – Debit Card Payments

Debit card payments are subject to £1.00 administration fee.

If you pay via Debit Card online the currency will be available to collect the following day after 1pm or after 4pm and you can also choose an advanced date.

ID is required for Collection please bring ID and Proof of Address (we will not hand over the currency without ID).

Cash Payments

If you choose to pay by cash you are subject to the board rates in the store which are lower than our online rates. We usually stock Euros and Dollars but for all other currencies you have to pay in advance via Bank Transfer or debit card to obtain the best rate and make sure we have the currency you require. If you wish to pay by cash or debit card at the counter we cannot guarantee the currency will be available to purchase on the same day, any currency is subject to availability.

Bank Transfer Next Day Delivery Rules

Payment received (Cleared in bank) by 2pm for next day delivery.

Payments received after 2pm will be sent out the following day.

Payments received (Cleared in bank) after 2pm Fridays will be sent out the following Monday.

Orders requesting specific denominations or pristine notes will be sent out following day.

Orders requesting specific denominations or pristine notes will be sent out following day. We will do our best to obtain the notes you requested but cannot Guarantee your requirements will be met. If we cannot meet your requirements we will contact you before dispatching your currency.

We reserve the right to apply addition £6.00 charge to cover the cost of any additional weight charges applied by Royal Mail.

How do you send me the currency?

We use Royal Mail Special Delivery Service. It’s a safe secure reliable insured service. The parcel is tracked all the way through the delivery process. Once dispatched we email you the Royal Mail tracking number by 6pm on day of dispatch so you can keep an eye on it the whole way through the delivery system.

What time do they deliver?

Delivery is between 8am and 1pm. The parcel is delivered by your regular postman. Royal Mail Next day Guaranteed is an excellent and reliable service. For peace of mind allow yourself 1 days grace in the event of a delay but these are extremely rare. Covent Garden FX is bound by Royal Mail Terms if items are delayed and have to allow them 10 working days before they will consider a claim for a lost parcel.

How will I know my Tracking Number?

When your order is dispatched we will send you an email with your Royal Mail Tracking number together with a link onto Royal Mails Track and Trace system. Your Tracking number will be activated when it is sorted and scanned at the Central London Sorting office, this normally appears between 8pm-9pm each evening. You will then be able to track your parcel to your door.

Its Past 1pm and Parcel has not arrived?

If it is past 1pm and the parcel does not show on Royal Mail's system that it is on route for delivery then please contact us. If it is shown as on route, then the postman must be running a little behind. In the rare occasion that they fail to deliver next day, we find that they do get delivered following day.

Our advice to our customers is that you should order your currency at least a week in advance and no less than 3 working days to avoid the stress or a late delivery.

The parcel has not been delivered, and the tracking is showing it's not moved anywhere.

Then please do contact us and we will work with you to locate the parcel. On the rare occasions that no tracking numbers appear it tends to be down to an IT issue on Royal Mail's Tracking system. If it's not then we can start an investigation with Royal Mail, but we have to wait 10 working days before Royal Mail will consider parcel as lost.

At this point we can claim for a lost parcel and the whole process takes 28 days from the point of claim for Royal Mail to respond back.

London Delivery

What is London Delivery?

We offer delivery across offices in the City of London only. We understand that you may be working and can not come to collect your money at a convenient time. Please note that this service is subject to availability.

Buy Back

How does it work?

Complete the Buy Back form and secure your rate. Once completed please send your currency to us through the Post (Royal Mail Special Delivery) or come along to Covent Garden FX and we will exchange it on the spot. We won't be beaten on price. This is our guarantee.

I want to post it back to you how do you pay me?

Postal Buy Backs - Direct into Bank Account within 24 Hours of receipt.

Shop Buy Backs - Direct into Bank account with 12 hours of receipt. Or by Cash.

I don't want to do the order online and would like to do an order in the shop, what rate will you give me?

Our online rates are always our best rates, so unless you ask us you will get the latest shop rate at point of sale.

What denominations are not accepted?

We cannot accept 500 Euro notes or any type of coins.

Compliance

Why do I need to Provide ID?

We will check that you are who you say you are, thats why we ask for home address details on the order form. Sometimes we will find that you may not be listed against that address (this could be because you have recently moved, married or are living in a newly built premises so we will ask you to provide us with ID.

We will also ask you for ID when you purchase over a certain amount.

Under HMRC Money Laundering Regulations we are required to keep full records of transactions of £10,000 Sterling and above, together with copies of identification provided.

Below is a list of the exact requirements needed according to the amount being spent:

Please note: This is an accumulative amount so if you have changed with us before and are going to go over these amounts for the year (12 months of transactions) then you will also need to provide the following forms of identification.

  • £2,500 or more:
    Valid Passport or Valid Driving Licence, Proof of Address dated within the Last Three Months.

  • £5,000 or more:
    £5k Large Transaction Form, Valid Passport or Valid Driving Licence, Proof of Address dated Within The Last Three Months.

  • £9,000 or more:
    £9k Large Transaction Form, Valid Passport or Valid Driving Licence, Proof of Address dated Within The Last Three Months and Source of Funds.
